Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Clayton Burgin, said the Vector Control Unit has adopted a proactive approach to the control of the mosquito population in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He made the point while responding to a question in Parliament in relation to the Ministry’s efforts to prevent future outbreaks of dengue and ckikungunya diseases.
Minister Burgin said the unit continues to implement strategies aimed at safeguarding persons from vector-borne diseases.
The Minister is encouraging Vincentians to play a greater role in the eradication of mosquito breeding grounds at the individual level.
