Chief Executive Officer of the International Airport Development Company (IADC), Dr. Rudy Matthias says the company is preparing to hire more than 160 persons to manage the facilities at the Argyle International Airport, when it is completed.
He made the announcement on Monday, during the opening session for a three-week Refresher Training Course for Air Traffic Controllers.
Dr. Mathias said the IADC is currently constructing a facility for the Director of Airports and her staff next to the Control Tower, which they expect to be complete by mid-October.
He said they are also putting a Management Team in place for the Terminal at the Argyle International Airport.
Dr. Mathias said the Management for the Terminal Building will also assist with putting the relevant systems in place for the other areas of the Argyle International Airport.
The training is being facilitated by Instructors from the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Training Centre, and will involve three batches of Air Traffic Controllers from throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
