The Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, Dame Janice Pereira, has called on all member states to place a priority on family law.
While addressing members of the legal profession in all member states, via live link from Grenada this morning, to mark the opening of the new law year, Pereira said that a more responsive approach to family law is needed.
The Chief Justice said that so far only some member states have heeded the call. She however noted that Antigua and Barbuda has made strides in making Family Law a priority and to this end bills will be brought before that country’s parliament by year end.
