Vincentians are continuing to show solidarity for their Caribbean brothers and sisters in Dominica, which was devastated by Tropical Storm Erika last month.
Over 50-thousand EC dollars in pledges were made yesterday, during a Radiothon involving eight local Radio Stations, which came together to raise funds for the Dominica Relief Effort.
The National Emergency Management Organisation NEMO and the local Red Cross Society also provided support for the initiative.
Deputy Director of NEMO, Michelle Forbes says the preliminary assessment of damage from Tropical Storm Erika in Dominica, indicates that the economic impact has been devastating.
A total of $53,324 EC was pledged by callers.
The funds will be collected at the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in account number: 134399.
