Eight new Peace Corps Trainees who arrived here on August 1st, will be sworn in as Peace Corps Volunteers today.
The Trainees have now completed their period of orientation and training on the island and they will be sworn in at Frenches House
The Swearing-In Ceremony begins at ten this morning. The main address will be delivered by Education Officer in the Ministry of Education, Hannah Browne.
The new Volunteers are assigned to various Primary Schools through the Ministry of Education and will assist with the Ministry’s Primary English Literacy Initiative.
They will join six current Volunteers who were assigned to this project in 2014.
The Primary English Literacy Initiative will be assessed through a focused monitoring and evaluation approach for the next five years.
