The Geothermal Resources Development Bill was passed in Parliament yesterday, as the Government move aggressively towards a clean energy future.
The Bill seeks to establish a National Energy Committee and to provide for the development and use of geothermal resources here.
In winding up debate on the Bill, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves spoke of the growing opportunities for geothermal energy production in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Meanwhile Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace has stressed the importance of seeking alternative sources of energy.
The Meeting of Parliament has been suspended until August 25th at 10:00AM.
