Executive Members of the local Credit Union Movement were involved in a one-day Symposium on August 14th, aimed at better equipping them with competitive skills and techniques to advance their Credit Unions.
The Leadership Development Symposium was spearheaded by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cooperative League.
In his address at the opening ceremony, President of the League Kelvin Pompey said the Symposium is very important to the future development and success of Credit Unions here.
He said over the last ten years, the Credit Union Membership increased from thirty-six to sixty-four percent.
Meanwhile, Manager of the Non-bank Credit Institutions and Money Services Supervision Department in Grenada, Denis Felix said the Credit Union Sector has proven to be very resilient to the many challenges to the Financial Sector.
