A workshop which will examine security related issues will be held here next week.
The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force will host the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI) & Ship Boarding Agreement (SBA) Workshop on Tuesday.
The workshop will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Conference Room, from 8am.
Representatives from the Police Force, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Customs and Excise Department, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Port Authority, the Immigration Department, the Financial Intelligence Unit, RUBIS and SOL will be in attendance.
Facilitators of the programme will be drawn from the US Office of The Secretary of Defense, Department of Defense, Department of State, Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Southern Command, and the Department of Homeland Security.
The participants will be updated on the critical role the Proliferation Security Initiative has played in countering the spread of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and other security related issues.
