The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is continuing its appeals for people to access their Family Emergency Plan, which contains information that will assist them in being better prepared to handle disasters.
This appeal was issued by Deputy Director of NEMO, Michelle Forbes as the continue the Disaster Public Awareness program, which is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), focusing on sharing information with Vincentians on preparation for Disasters of any kind.
Miss Forbes said they are disseminating packages which contains booklets and other paraphernalia relating to a series of hazards, to ensure that every family in the country is prepared for Disasters.
She is appealing to every family to ensure that they receive one of these packages.
Miss Forbes said they also host public sensitization programs in communities throughout the country to ensure that they can respond to disasters before officials from the National Emergency Management Organization, arrive on the scene.
