The National Diabetic and Hypertensive Association is collaborating with the Lions Club of Kingstown SVG is to implement a National Project to reduce the prevalence of hypertension St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
According to Beverly Reddock, a Director of the Lions Club of Kingstown, and a member of the National Diabetic and Hypertensive Association, the project has been dubbed Blood Pressure Control Through Community Action.
Miss Reddock says both local entities are implementing the project, on behalf of the Healthy Caribbean Coalition, with funding provided by Australian Aid.
She says screening has already begun and is being conducted in communities from Fancy to Georgetown.
The project got underway in June and is expected to wrap up in November.
