A top legal professional here is reminding Vincentians that they are entitled to certain legal rights, if they encounter difficulties with the law.
Senior Prosecutor in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Adolphus Delplesche, spoke of these rights during the Police On the Beat programme aired on NBC Radio on Monday night.
Mr. Delplesche said following an arrest, persons have the right to a telephone call, which can be used to solicit legal assistance.
Mr. Delplesche said persons being held in police custody also have a right to medical and other services.
