The Starlift Steel Orchestra is representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the International Conference and Panorama (ICP), which takes place in Trinidad and Tobago from today and climaxes on August 9th.
President of the Youlou Pan Movement, Oneka Morgan tells NBC News, the event is being held under the theme “Towards the Globalization and development of the Steel Pan”.
Miss Morgan said the ICP is the first of its kind and local participation in the program is expected to bring significant benefits to the local Steel Pan Sector.
She said one of their major objective will be to place in the International Panorama Competition which has a first place prize of two hundred and fifty thousand U.S dollars.
Miss Morgan said they will also seek to learn more while sharing their knowledge at the International Pan Conference.
