Director of the Seismic Research Centre at the University of the West Indies, Dr. Richard Robinson, says Vincentians should not unduly fearful over the recent series of earthquakes in the region.
Dr. Robinson, who is in the country on a separate mission, briefed the media about the recent earthquakes, during a News conference hosted by the National Emergency management Organisation, NEMO this morning.
He noted that when these events happen, the Caribbean region tends to regard them as being specific to our area, and not part of a greater system.
Dr. Robinson said that aftershocks can be expected over the next coming weeks.
He is now in the state to take part in a community based project, aimed at better equipping communities to deal with disasters
