A Media Launch was held at Cabinet Room this morning for the National Geothermal Project, which is expected to bring major benefits for the national economy.
The project aims to provide this country with a source of affordable sustainable energy, stabilize electricity prices and improve energy security.
Among those addressing this morning’s launch was the Chief Operating Officer of Rey-kyavik Geothermal, Gunnar Gunnarsson.
Mr. Gunnarsson outlined the progress that has been made so far on the National Geothermal Project.
Remarks at this morning’s ceremony also came from the Director of Resilient Communities from the Clinton Climate Initiative, Leslie Labruto.
Miss Labruto emphasized the importance of the project to national development.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves gave an overview of the project, as he addressed this morning’s Media Launch of the National Geothermal Project.
The Prime Minister explained why the Government is proceeding with the initiative.
The Prime Minister also provided details on how the project would proceed.
