Over 600 persons have so far updated their registration to ensure that their names will not be excluded from the Voters’ List for the upcoming General Elections.
On Friday, 26th June, the Electoral Office publicized a List of 23,702 persons whose names were being excluded from the Voters’ List.
These persons were given thirty days in which to update their voter registration, or to object to their names being excluded from the Voters’ List. The 30–day period ends on Monday, 27th July.
A release from the electoral Office says during the first fifteen days, 601 of the 23,702 individuals on the List have already updated their registration and so have ensured that their names will not be excluded from the Voters’ List.
The Electoral Office is appealing to all other persons whose names appear on the List, especially those resident in St. Vincent and the Grenadines or nationals visiting the country at this time, to update their registration before 27th July.
These persons are being advised to call the Electoral Office at telephone nbrs: 457-1762 / 485 – 6844, or visit the Electoral Office on Bay Street for further information.
