Today St. Vincent and the Grenadines will join the rest of the region to observe Regional HIV Testing Day 2015.
The HIV testing is being carried out by the Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment and organized in collaboration with the Caribbean Broadcast Media Partnership, Scotia Bank and the Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP).
Director of the HIV/AIDS Unit, Ferosa Roache tells NBC News testing will begin at 8:00am today, at a number of sites and she is encouraging everyone who is sexually active to get tested.
She said counselors and other professional personnel have already been assigned to the various testing sites and she reiterated that it is important that everyone is aware of his or her HIV status.
