St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented at the Miss Caribbean Houston Pageant this Sunday in Texas, USA.
Oneka Byron originally from Cane Hall is among eight contestants who will vye for the Pageant title on Sunday at the Stafford Civic Centre.
The contestants will be judged in Traditional Wear; Carnival Wear; Swimwear; Evening Gown and Interview segments.
Organizers say the Miss Caribbean Houston Pageant caters to not only displaying ethnocentric talents of a diverse group of individuals but it is designed to also showcase and highlight various Caribbean cultural backgrounds of the young ladies.
They will also gain leadership, interpersonal, and professional skills.
Ultimately, contestants will be groomed to use this opportunity as a platform to address various socio-economic, humane, social, environmental and cultural issues.
The other Contestants are from Antigua/Barbuda; Dominica; Jamaica; Haiti; St. Lucia; Trinidad and Tobago and the US Virgin Islands.
