St. Vincent and Guyana played to a 4-4 draw in last night’s 2nd leg match of their CONCACAF 2018 World Cup Football Qualifier at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines led 2-1 in the first half.
Myron Samuel scored in the 16th minute with an opportunity that developed from a corner kick. Emery Welshman equalized in the 40th minute for Guyana after a good cross from Samuel Cox on the right side.
The very next minute St. Vincent and the Grenadines regained the lead when Tevin netted the first of his two goals. Neil Danns converted a penalty area in the 50th minute.
Slater put St. Vincent and the Grenadines ahead once again eight minutes later with a scorcher of a shot, after which Oalex Anderson scored in the 67th minute to earn the 4-4 draw for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The results means that SVG advanced in the competition on superior goal difference.
