Nephrologist and Registrar at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, Dr. Twana Browne-Caesar spoke of some these misconceptions during NBC’s Views On Issues discussion programme on Sunday.
The discussion was held to mark World Blood Donor Day which was observed yesterday, under the theme:Thank You For Saving My Life
Dr. Browne-Caesar noted many persons are apprehensive about giving blood.
Dr. Browne-Caesar stressed that precautions are taken to ensure that neither the donor nor the recipient is put at risk, during the process of giving blood.
The slogan for this year’s World Blood Donor Day is “Give Freely, Give Often – Blood Donation Matters.
