The Gender Affairs division in the Ministry of Social Development is urging Vincentians to seek help to deal with issues of domestic abuse.
The appeal comes on the heels of incidents in Chateaubelair on Sunday where a woman was hacked to death by her ex-boyfriend.
The alleged perpetrator has since died in hospital after apparently ingesting a toxic substance.
Assistant Co-ordinator in the Gender Affairs Division, Anton Ceaser says the tragic incident show what can happen if persons do not seek help in resolving conflict.
Mr. Ceasar is encouraging victims of domestic abuse to speak out and seek help.
He adds that the entire community has a part to play in stamping out gender-based violence.
Is this another thinly disguised example of blaming the victim?
