Director of the Bureau of Standards, Ezra Ledger says some Businesses in St. Vincent and the Grenadines are progressing towards compliance with international standards.
However, he said that some are seemingly unwilling to do what’s necessary to assure their products are of a quality that can be traded with any other WHO member country.
Mr. Ledger said while a business might have a good product, conformity is essential for foreign trade.
Meanwhile, Trade Officer in the Ministry of Trade, Janice King, says that there are challenges which local producers face while trying to comply with international standards.
