An omnibus packed with churchgoers crashed yesterday sending all on board to hospital, including a number of young children.
The accident occurred around 6:30pm along the Calliaqua public road close to Barefoot Yacht Club.
The injured passengers from the Wesleyan Holiness Church were returning from a function in Georgetown when the accident occurred.
Police say the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll to the bottom of a 250 foot deep embankment.
The van – registration number H 3791 – was driven by Junior Marshall.
He told investigators that he lost control of the vehicle after it developed problems.
Two people, including an elderly woman, remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police say their investigation into this incident is continuing.
