Vincentians who may be planning to travel to any of the 26 countries in the Schengen area are being advised to take steps to ensure that all the necessary issues are clarified, before finalizing their travel plans.
The advice came from Minister of Foreign Affairs, Camillo Gonsalves, during a Ministerial Statement in Parliament last week.
Minister Gonsalves announced that Vincentians are among citizens from some fifty countries around the world who can now travel without a visa to several countries in Europe which are part of the Schengen zone.
This followed the signing of a Schengen Visa Waiver Agreement for holders of Vincentian passports and other citizens of the Eastern Caribbean.
Minister Gonsalves pointed out that although the Agreement has taken effect, there may be some administrative challenges to be ironed out.
