The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is reminding persons that it is a criminal offence to be in possession of counterfeit notes.
The reminder came from Station Sergeant Hezron Ballantyne, during the On the Beat programme on NBC Radio on Monday night.
Sergeant Ballantyne issued the word of caution, as he advised persons to be vigilant during the Carnival Season, since counterfeit bills are most often seen at times like this.
He explained that, according to the laws of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, knowingly having possession of, producing or issuing counterfeit currency is a matter that the Police will not be taking lightly.
