Director of Trade, Cuthbert Knights has highlighted the importance of the Service Industry to the economy of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Speaking on NBC’s Face to Face programme on Thursday, Mr. Knights said the services sector contributes approximately 70 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
He explained that services are intangible products which are important to the economy.
Meanwhile, Trade officer in the Ministry of Trade, OKolo John-Patrick, pointed out that there are four ways in which services can be delivered.
Services week will be observed here from May 18-22, under the theme: Building Capacity in Trade in Services
The activities planned to mark the week are aimed mainly at sensitizing the public on the importance of the services sector in SVG.
