Vincentians are being encouraged to turn out in their numbers to the Annual Japan Day Programme, today.
Chief Fisheries Officer, Jennifer Cruickshank Howard said The Annual Japan Day Programme, which takes place today, is being organized by the Fisheries Division as part of activities to observe Fisherman’s month 2015.
The Division is hosting 40 days of activities this year, to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Fisherman’s Day.
Mrs. Cruickshank Howard said today’s Japan Day will feature many aspects of Japanese tradition because that country has played an integral role in the development of the local fishing industry.
She noted that today’s program runs from 10:00 am to 2:00pm at the Fisheries Complex in Kingstown.
This year’s activities are being held theme: Forty Years of Harvest, Accept no less, Fish is the best” and with the slogan: Put a Fish on Your Dish.
