Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has been discussing the foreign investment potential for the development of Medical Marijuana Production.
Dr. Gonsalves raised the issue, during remarks at a ceremony held at Cabinet Room on Tuesday, to mark the signing of an agreement between the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Compete Caribbean, for the Institutional Strengthening of Invest SVG.
The project which will be implemented at a cost of 220 thousand US dollars, is aimed at improving the investment climate in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Prime Minister said the production of Medical Marijuana can have significant economic benefits for St. Vincent and the Grenadines but it does not mean that cannabis will be legalized here.
And, Executive Director of Invest SVG Bernadette Ambrose-Black said the Investment Agency has already identified the Development of the Tourism sector as one area to receive attention under the project.
