The Goodwill Fishers Cooperative based at Rose Place in Kingstown will be hosting series of activities during next week as part of this year’s Fisherman’s Month program.
Chairman of the Fisherman’s Day Committee, Winsbert Harry tells NBC News they have been hosting a series of very successful programs thus far since this year’s Fisherman’s month of activities were launched.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the program and to commemorate this milestone the Fisheries Division in the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Transformation, Industry and Fisheries is currently hosting forty days of activities.
This year’s program which runs from April 16th to May 25th is taking place under the theme “Forty Years of Harvest, accept no less, Fish is the best” and the slogan “Put a Fish on Your Dish”.
Mr. Harry said during next week the Goodwill Fishers Cooperative will be hosting a beach cleanup, a Fish Night and a number of activities and he is encouraging members of the public to support them.
