Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is scheduled to leave the state today to attend the Regional Summit on Climate Change, which takes place in Martinique tomorrow.
The summit will be chaired by François Hollande, the President of France, and will bring together states and territories of the Caribbean, including the French Outermost Regions.
It aims to contribute to the drafting of an ambitious and binding global agreement, which must be adopted during the 21st Conference Of the Parties, which will be held in Paris at the end of this year.
Environmental Educator and Focal Point for Climate Change in the Ministry of Health, Nyasha Hamilton, will also attend the meeting with the Prime Minister in Martinique.
Prime Minister Gonsalves will also attend the Inauguration of the Memorial on Slavery in Guadeloupe on Sunday.
Senator Jomo Thomas will join the Prime Minister in Guadeloupe for the ceremony
The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to the state on Sunday.
