Speaking on the recent On The Beat programme, Station Sergeant Junior Simmons, deputy of the Anti-Trafficking In Persons Unit (ATIPU), said that On the 29th of September 2011, the parliament of SVG enacted “The Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act” which makes the act of human trafficking a crime in SVG.
Superintendent Ruth Jacobs, who runs the ATIPU added, that Countries are ranked via a tier system, based on their compliance to international standards with regards to Human Trafficking
