The Hugo Chavez National Fuel Storage Facility which was constructed at a cost of 31.6-million US dollars, was officially commissioned here yesterday.
The facility located at Lowmans Bay, is said to be the third most expensive capital project in the history of this country.
Construction of the facility began in 2007 and was funded under the Petro Caribe Agreement.
Delivering the feature address, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the relationship between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela has strengthened with the opening of Fuel Storage Facility.
Meanwhile … Chief Executive Officer of VINLEC Thornley Myers said this country will save millions of dollars as a result of the new facility.
Other addresses came from President of Petro Caribe/Alba Bank Initiative Bernado Alvarez and Vice President of Venezuela Jorge Arreaza.
