The Forestry Department in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is appealing to Vincentians to be cautious when buying river fish during this time.
This appeal was made by Forestry Officer three with responsibility for Law Compliance, Bradford Latham as they continue to call on hunters to desist from poisoning the rivers when catching fish.
Mr. Latham said some persons buy these fish knowing the method which was used to catch them while others are not aware.
He said poisoning the rivers have significant detrimental effects.
Mr. Latham is reminding Vincentians that if they consume the fish that has been poisoned this will have adverse health effects.
