Minister of Foreign Affairs, Camillo Gonsalves has highlighted the huge economic burden placed on the state, by chronic non-communicable diseases such as Diabetes.
Minister Gonsalves made the point, during his remarks at a News Conference held yesterday to mark the signing of an agreement between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Cuba, to facilitate the introduction of the drug Heberprot-P here.
He noted that the Government has to expend significant sums to provide treatment and care for persons suffering from diseases such as diabetes.
