As the Easter weekend approaches, The Forestry Department is urging Vincentians to be extra careful when consuming the various river species, which are hunted locally.
The appeal came from Forestry Officer with responsibility for Law Compliance, Bradford Latham, during the Face to Face programme aired on NBC Radio on Monday.
He said the department is concerned with the illegal use of harmful chemicals when conducting hunting activities in the nation’s rivers.
Mr. Latham said it is incumbent on individuals to exercise their due diligence to avoid consuming contaminated products.
Mr. Latham is encouraging hunters to utilize sustainable conservation practices.
