Minister of Foreign Affairs, Camillo Gonsalves, said a number of Latin American countries have expressed interest in the ‘Go Teacher Programme’ being undertaken with the government of Ecuador.
The programme, to be conducted in collaboration with the SVG Community College, involves the training of Ecuadorian students, including foreign diplomats, in the English language.
Speaking at a signing ceremony on Tuesday, Minister Gonsalves said while the programme is in its initial stages, it has the potential to transform this country’s education sector.
Minister Gonsalves however noted that efforts must be made to improve the human and physical capacity to meet this country’s obligations under the programme.
