Ministers of Agriculture from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, OECS will deliberate on a number of critical issues, at a one-day meeting which takes place here today.
The first meeting of the OECS Council of Agriculture Ministers will be held at the National Insurance Services (NIS) Conference Room, commencing at 8:30 a.m.
Ministers of Agriculture and Senior Officials from across the OECS region are expected to be represented at the one-day meeting.
Areas to be discussed include the OECS growth and development strategy – the links with agriculture.
There will also be discussion on revitalizing the agriculture sector; reducing the region’s large food import bill, governance arrangements for implementation of the OECS Agriculture Plan of Action and the ongoing and proposed agriculture projects managed by the OECS Commission and Industry Partners.
