The University of the West Indies Open Campus will host a public lecture this week as part of National Heroes and Heritage Month activities.
Local Artist Conroy Nkuru Dyer, will deliver the lecture on the topic, “The Re-colonisation of the Black Woman: Hair me Now”.
The lecture takes a critical look at the impact of the multi-billion dollar women’s hair industry on Black women and explores issues of identity, image, race and self-pride.
The lecture takes place on Thursday at the Open Campus Lecture Hall, beginning at 7pm.
