St. Vincent and the Grenadines is among countries in the Caribbean which are being challenged by the increasing number of persons being afflicted by Chronic Non-communicable Diseases.
The issue was raised by the Minister responsible for Consumer Affairs, Camillo Gonsalves, as he delivered a radio address to mark World Consumer Rights Day, which was observed on Sunday March 15th, under the theme: Right To Healthy Foods.
Minister Gonsalves disclosed that the Caribbean is the region worst affected by the epidemic of Chronic Non-communicable Diseases.
This year, the Consumer Affairs Division in the Ministry of Trade collaborated with a number of local agencies to host activities to commemorate World Consumer Rights Day.
These included: a sidewalk exhibition, a radio discussion and school visits.
