Chief Pharmacist Levi Walker said the introduction of the drug – Heberprot-P – on the local market, is expected to bring significant benefits to persons suffering from Diabetic foot Ulcers.
The drug was developed by Scientists at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Cuba as a cure for diabetic foot ulcers.
Speaking at a news conference yesterday, Mr. Walker said clinical trials have shown an 80 percent success rate in patients in an average of 13 weeks.
Mr. Walker said the documented side-effects of the drug are minimal.
