The Girls’ High School today launched their Young Leaders program for 2015 dubbed “Thumbs Up”.
The program is based on addressing the negatives that come along with technological development such as Cyber Bullying, sexting, driving while using mobile devices among others.
Speaking at the launch of today’s program, PRO of the Girls’ High School Young Leaders, Safiya Quamina said they saw the need to develop a program of this nature because technological advancements also have their negative impacts in any society.
Quamina said the initiative is aimed at ensuring that ALL Vincentians are responsible users of technology.
Meanwhile Deputy Principal at the Girls’ High School, Michelle Beache said this year’s Young Leaders program is a follow up to a policy which the school embarked on a number of years ago.
She said they are seeking to extend the message to the public about the responsible use of technology.
