The University of the West Indies UWI Open Campus will host a country conference here this week to build awareness about Natural Disasters.
The Conference, will be held under the theme: Promoting a culture of safety: Building Resilience to natural disasters and stimulating Sustainable Development.”
Head of the Open Campus Deborah Dalrymple said at least 14 persons are expected to make presentations at the event, which would include an Exhibition.
Meanwhile … The Ministry of Education’s Disaster Risk Reduction Educator Idelia Ferdinand said a wide range of topics would be covered during the Conference.
The two day conference is schedule to take place on Wednesday March 11th and Thursday 12th at the NIS conference facility.
