Minister of Education Girlyn Miguel has underscored the need for the implementation of measures to prevent students from dropping out of school.
In response to a question in Parliament yesterday, Minister Miguel said students drop out of school for a variety of reasons and this is an issue that merits the attention of policy makers.
She however said that the problem can be addressed only marginally unless the Parents and Guardians of the vulnerable students fulfill their parental obligations.
Minister Miguel said the most significant reason for exiting the system was migration.
The Minister said there was a decrease in the school dropout rate at the Secondary level.
