The University of the West Indies (UWI) has played a significant role in the regional integration process, since it was founded on February 16th, 1948.
That’s according to UWI Alumni Contact, Shevar Maloney, as he spoke of the contribution of the tertiary-level educational institution on NBC’s Face to Face programme last week.
Mr. Maloney said the UWI continues to be a leading force in molding the future leaders of the Caribbean region.
Mr. Maloney said the university was founded to provide greater access to tertiary level education to the people of the region.
