This appeal was made by Public Relations and Marketing Manager at the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA), Joan Ryan during the Face to Face program aired on NBC Radio.
Miss Ryan said persons were recently taken to court for offences under the Litter Act and she believes that measures like this will help in keeping the country clean.
She said before this was being done many persons disposed of their garbage anywhere without any regard.
Meanwhile, Collections Superintendent at the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA), Greg Francois said they have done an extensive public sensitization program regarding the Litter Act in the Sandy Bay Community in the recent past.
He also commended the Police in Sandy Bay for enforcing the Litter Act and stressed that this is a positive development as they continue their work to keep the country clean.
