Kineke Alexander, Team Athletic SVG’s Athlete of the Year for 2015 and the National Sports Council’s Female Athlete of the Year continued her good start to the 2015 Track Season setting a New National Indoor Record in 200 and 400-metres at the Tyson Invitational in Arkansas USA.
Last Friday, Keneke won the 400-metres in a season best of 52.20 seconds and returned on Saturday to claim the 200-metres in a time of 23.24 seconds, firmly cementing her dominance and setting a NEW National Indoor Record in the process by shaving 0.09 seconds off the old mark of 23.33 seconds.
On February 6th, at the Aggie Invitational in College Station, Texas she again ran to a new season best enroute to winning both the 400-metres and 200-metres, in times 52.46 seconds and 23.42 seconds respectively.
On Saturday January 24th, at the Lobo Collegiate Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kineke posted two world leading times in the 400-metres and the 200-metres. She ran times of 52.66 seconds in the 400-metres and 23.33 seconds in the 200-metres, breaking the national indoor record of 23.54 seconds which was set some two years ago.
Kineke will move on to two professional meets in Europe later this week. First in Stockholm Sweden where she will contest the 200-metres on Thursday and to Birmingham to run the 400-metres on Saturday
