The St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited VINLEC said the cost of fuel is the single major contributor to the high cost of energy generation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Chief Executive Officer Thornley Myers said consumers will see a fuel surcharge rate of 31.69 cents applicable for February bills, as compared to a rate of 45.49 cents on January bills.
Speaking on NBC’s Face to Face Program yesterday, Mr. Myers said the cost of fuel for the generation of electricity in the month of January, totaled almost 4 million EC dollars.
