A team of experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration NOAA of the USA are here to conduct the Workshop on water quality needs assessment and capacity building for the south coast marine conservation and the tobacco cays marine park.
Speaking at Monday’s opening ceremony Dr. Cheryl Woodley of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the oceans are connected with the natural resources in both the Caribbean and the USA that needs to be protected in order to have the best water quality.
Dr. Woodley said the team will share their knowledge and expertise to eliminate the treats in local waters that should be more manageable than climate change.
The workshop is also being hosted by the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority.
It is taking place at the Fisheries Division Conference Room
