Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves will outline the policies and programmes of his Government for the year ahead, when he presents his 2015 Budget Address in Parliament later today.
The Budget Address will follow the ceremonial opening of the Fifth Session of the Ninth Parliament.
The session was originally scheduled for Monday January 12th, but was postponed, following the fatal accident at Rock Gutter.
Prior to the Budget presentation, Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne will deliver the Traditional Throne Speech to mark the start of the new Parliamentary Session.
The Prime Minister had announced in Parliament in December that this year’s National Budget amounts to some 971.3 million EC dollars.
He said the Budget is to be financed by current revenue of 532.3 million dollars and capital revenue of 439 million dollars.
The ceremonial opening is set to begin at four this afternoon at the Assembly Chamber in Kingstown.
