A local environment official said the Botanical Gardens, which was established here in 1765, is being marketed as one of the premier tourist attractions in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Superintendent of Marine and Terrestrial Parks at National Parks Rivers and Beaches Authority, Andrew Lockhart, made the point during the Views On Issues programme aired on NBC Radio.
The discussion focused on the 250th anniversary of the Botanical Gardens and its importance to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Mr. Lockhart said this marketing effort has resulted in a significant increase in visitors to the facility in recent years.
