Minister of Tourism, Cecil Mckie, said this country’s tourism product will receive a major boost this year with the commissioning of the Hospitality and Maritime Training Institute at Diamond.
He was speaking at a recent ceremony for the presentation of licenses to thirty-five hotels as tourism approved accommodations, having successfully complied with various quality assurance guidelines.
Minister McKie said the institute will add value to the local tourism offerings by providing training in a number of tourism-related areas.
Meanwhile, Minister McKie said the implementation of this and other initiatives are intended to ensure that the tourism industry remains viable.
